I wanted to share the games we did for my daughter’s Balloon Birthday Party. I love looking at Pinterest for inspiration of how to decorate for parties. I like coming up with a theme and colors for a party. It helps me organize my thoughts. I also really like the idea of having a decorated table for a party. I feel like if I have one nicely decorated table I don’t feel like my whole house needs to be covered in decorations. I have a Pinterest board for Balloon/ Hot Air Balloon Birthday Parties if you would like to see my inspiration. One thing I had a hard time finding on Pinterest was ideas for what to do with my little party animals at the party. Do they just run wild for hours? I can’t handle that, nope I need order, I needed a plan, I needed activities for these kids to do. I’m listing all of the games and activities I had on my list and there are even some that could be considered Pinterest fails (I’ll note them). I didn’t even have time to do all the activities (which was good- I wanted to be over prepared rather than run out of things to do). By the way, I got the cute hot air balloon free printable from Classy Clutter. The photo of my daughter was taken by Butterfly Chaser Photography.
Continue after the jump to see the list of games/activities for the party.
We had Frozen Halloween Costumes this year! Who else was Frozen this year? Or should I ask who wasn’t Frozen this year? I really like doing the coordinated family costumes. I wonder how many more years I can do that. Elsa- Costume from Amazon. We threw a white shirt underneath her dress. Olaf- Beanie from Target. White linen pants from Janie & Jack that we already had. We put on a white button up shirt and I taped black felt buttons to his shirt. Anna- Already owned the blue dress and black shirt. I added a white streak to my hair and sewed the cape. Kristoff- sewed his tunic. All fabric’s were purchased from Joann’s. I basically looked at Anna and Kristoff outfits and picked a few things that I thought would make it look like them with out going all out on the costumes. Anna the color of cape and dress were important to me. The only embellishment I added were the pom- poms. Kristoff I felt like the pink color on his tunic and the FUR is what made him “Kristoff.” I used an old t-Shirt as a guide for Kristoff’s tunic. I completely winged the cape. I was so happy we took the time before Halloween to go out and take a group shot before the hustle and bustle of the 31rst.
Happy Halloween.
Why should I start a blog? Starting a blog has intimidated me for awhile. I have a unique perspective and I should share it.
I was reading my daughter some alphabet books and kept thinking man we have read so many alphabet books. She already knows her ABCs- why do we keep checking them out? We like them though- we like MOST of them. What if one of those authors decided there were too many alphabet books on the shelf and that it’s already been done before? We would miss out on some great reads. Each of these alphabet books teaches in different ways, they resonate with people differently and they are entertaining.
I decided to liken my life to an alphabet book. I requested as many alphabet books from the library as possible. I dragged my family out one evening to help haul and arrange all of these books for this photograph. I felt like I checked out ALL of the alphabet books from the library but I hadn’t– there are still tons more.
Here is my voice, here is my blog and I love it. Do you have a blog?
