This maternity session was done at Hodges Park in Lubbock, Texas. Isn’t this mother just beautiful? This will be the second baby for this couple. This was her first time getting maternity photographs done. Her first sweet baby came a lot early than anticipated. So, she was thrilled to be full term with her second baby. They both came in separate cars to the session and her husband had a big grin on his face. He stayed to take some pictures than went off to a football game with some friends. I’ll have to remember to make sure my husband goes somewhere fun after we get our pictures done as well!
I was honored to be able to do this lifestyle newborn session. Being allowed into a home when a baby has just come is so special because the newborn is so vulnerable and pure. I love newborn photography and had posed newborn photos for my children. So, it was a great opportunity to study how to do a lifestyle approach to newborn photography.
I was so impressed how the older children interacted with their baby sister. They were so careful with her and were ready to be photographed. The father had just worked a night shift and was such a trooper to still be up. After the children had taken some photos with their brand new baby sister, the dad took them out for a prize for good behavior. Once the children left, we were able to get some photos of the baby solo and with her beautiful mother.
Remember her mother’s orchard maternity session?
This maternity session was photographed in a private pecan orchard in Lubbock, Texas. This will make baby number three for this pretty lady. Her long flowy dress fit her view of having three children- relaxed and ready to go with the flow. Her husband found this lovely orchard. There was a “No Trespassing” sign with a phone number. I called the owner and asked if I could take pictures on his property. What was the worst he could do say “no,” right? He graciously said yes as long as I promised not to drive through the orchard. I resisted the urge and didn’t drive through the orchard :-) !
