These graduation pictures were taken at Texas Tech University. I was beyond thrilled to photograph this handsome couple again. Plus, I got to see their adorable baby and snap a few photos since he is now six months old. How cute is he in his baby scrubs? I took senior photos when I graduated from high school but I didn’t think to take professional ones when I graduated college. This couple is graduating from medical school. So, impressive to do it together (and with a baby).
It is important to document the people in our lives in addition to big milestones as well. They knew where they wanted photos taken and occasionally I would stop and say, “this looks like a good spot can we take them here.” Dad would say, “You know the only photo we are going to regret taking is the one we didn’t take. So, let’s do it.” I knew I liked them! We were able to get in a ton of variety. They were able to change clothes and fulfilled my dream of photographing someone in cowboy boots. I mean how can I move away from Texas without photographing boots? They wore their college colors and of course just like her maternity session the attention to detail was wonderful. Mom wore adorable Texas earrings. They had their guns up for the Texas Red Raiders. College campuses are beautiful and such a great place to take photographs.

This family photo-session took place in the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum. The flowers at this time of the year are just beautiful- plus they are fun to run around in. What a great looking family. I love the color choice of the family the mustard yellow, blues and grays photograph so well together. I also like the details of the watches on the boys, bracelet and necklace on the girl and scarf on the mom.
The timing of these photos worked out well the youngest had just had a birthday and the couple was celebrating an anniversary. I took a couple of photos of mom and dad. When we turned around the kids were climbing rocks and trees. While this age group is fantastic to photograph because the kids do what is asked they want to have fun. I got more genuine smiles when I allowed some of the boys to pick where they were being photographed. As long as the lighting was good, I was able to roll with it.
I was especially impressed at how the kids took care of each other and especially the youngest one. I have too many favorites in this bunch but the brother photo is one of my favorites. I also could have photographed the beautiful girl all day in the flowers.
This was a fun Easter photo session. A lot of kids get new clothes for Easter and look their Sunday best so it’s a great idea to document the holidays. Speaking of clothes doesn’t the little girl look like a little bride with her beautiful bouquet of flowers? Aren’t the boys so handsome in their vests and bow ties? All these little details help make a beautiful photograph. These beautiful children belong to this mom. Both mom and dad were able to go with me to photograph the kids. These photographs were taken at the LDS Lubbock Temple grounds.
These parents knew exactly how to help during the photos. The parent’s didn’t just say “smile kids,” they were being so silly the kids couldn’t help but smile. I wanted to turn around and see the skit that was going on behind me. One of the parents was pretending to pour water on the other and other one was just hamming it up. Kids love their parents and love when they “play” with them. The kids were so sweet to each other, kissing, holding hands, running around and playing and be sure to see the last photo. That is the reason why I have always wanted an older brother.
